Bio:
The second daughter of King Desiderius, Gerberga is the mother of two royal sons, Pepin and Lothair, by her deceased husband, King Carloman. She has long been the object of the affection of Ogier the Dane, and accepts his protection after her husband’s sudden passing.
Her prank at the expense of Sir Gerard of Vienne touched off a brief war in 771 between Gerard’s kinsman and Charlemagne.
