Bio:

coa-turpin.pngTurpin was a monk at Saint Denis who was appointed Archbishop of Reims, but decided to take up arms on the death of his father. He soon became the glorious warrior-archbishop of the Franks. By his double task as a knight and a bishop, he embodies the Church’s support of Charlemagne’s holy wars against the pagans. Turpin is one of Charlemagne’s closest friends, as well as the royal biographer.
